About the Artist

Aminah Alhamdu is an emerging British-Ghanaian writer and filmmaker who tells diverse stories that balance spectacle with sentiment, centring complex, flawed and unconventional female characters. A first-class Media graduate of Oxford Brookes University, she won an academic prize for her feature-length adaptation of the classic play Volpone, took part in the BFI Southeast Writer’s Lab, and received support from the BFI Short Cut Film Fund. She is also a Film London alumna and has assisted on film and high-end TV productions for Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime and the BBC.
